Many people make an Euregio.

Euregio und FahneThe enlargement and conferment of a current slogan of Cologne's regional council shows how important the Euregional involvement of the citizens is.

It was only though the elaboration and presentation of a common programme during  the "Bunt, Bonter, Variété - [the diversity of Euregional civic involvement"] action week that the broad spectrum, the potential and the professionalism of the manifold initiatives could be showcased, bringing the influence and importance of these initiatives for our region to the fore: clearly, our region remains incomplete if we don't incorporate the potentials of the Dutch, Belgian and German neighbouring regions into our thoughts and actions.

And this is practiced in an exemplary manner by Euregional civic involvement. Press release

Forum 2009: EURODE Erklärung
Die Teilnehmer des "Forum Euregionales Engagement 2009" in Herzogenrath haben eine "EURODE-Erklärung" verfasst, in der als Ziel die Verstärkung der Euregionalen Zusammenarbeit sowie eine Kooperation mit der Stichting Euregio Maas-Rhein vereinbart wurde. Die EURODE-Erklärung steht hier zur Verfügung.
 
The future of Civic Involvement in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine
The Forum for Euregional Civic Involvement 2009 took place in Herzogenrath on May 15. During the conference, the new director of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine, Hans Niessen, held a speech on the importance of Civic Involvement in the Euregio. The event was part of the supporting  programme of the Karlspreis 2009 and was organised by KreaScientia in cooperation with Gabriele Tetzner.

The Rolduc declaration
On the occasion of the "Dreiländertag 2008", representatives initiatives from the Euregio Meuse-Rhine met to discuss the results of the pilot project "Bunt, Bonter, Variéte - the variety of Euregional involvement" and to think about common perspectives for the year 2009 and beyond.

The discussions showed just how important the support by the the political bodies and committees in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine is. The participants thereupon adopted the "Rolduc declaration" that calls for a stregthening of Euregional civic involvement. The Rolduc-declaration is available here (not yet translated, sorry).
