It aims to introduce the perception of architecture to youth, to elate them as well as motivating them to develop their very own point of view on modern architecture. Above all, the focus is to experience Ludwig Mies van der Rohe not only as the great architecture as he was but also as a normal human being, as a citizen. Encouragement of the appreciation of his work and of him as an international recognized artist and citizen of Aachen is a further goal we try to achieve.

First results form the pilot project in cooperation with theyouth club OT-Josefhaus were presented at the ceremony in the Coronation Hall of Aachen's town hall.

Young people, aged 13 to 15 years, will explore the interesting biography of Mies van der Rohe, who grew up in their local area and who, after working several years in Berlin, emigrated as "degenerate" artist to the USA. The aim of the comprehensive training program is to introduce young people to the perception of architecture, to interest them in the build environment and to assist them in finding their own views on modern architecture. Above all, it is intended that the life of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is to be better known. His appreciation in Aachen as an internationally recognized architect shall be strengthened.
